The Lions made a five-hour trip to Savannah this weekend to take on Savannah Country Day and Calvary Day. Game 1 went well for Hebron as the team posted a 60-15 win over the host Hornets. Hebron led 22-6 at the end of the first quarter and 36-8 at the half as SCD had some difficulty with Hebron’s pressure. The Lions outscored SCD 24-7 in the second half to secure the win. Everyone contributed in this one as different combinations of players were on display throughout the game. Junior Nicole Azar led the Hebron scoring effort pouring in 27 points including going 5-for-11 (46%) from behind the arc. She also had a pair of steals and was the beneficiary of some nice dishes from Carly Fahey who led the team in assists with seven. Fahey also had four steals. Malia Fisher had a solid night with six points, six steals, five rebounds, five assists and two monster blocked shots. Jessie Parish added five points, five boards and two steals while Carly Heidger scored four points and had two assists. Ella Heard chipped in four points and two assists for the Lions who improve to 2-0 on the young season. Hebron will face No. 7 ranked Calvary Day tomorrow. Tipoff is 1:00 PM at Savannah Country Day.
