The week long layoff was evident but it did not matter as Class A No. 4 Hebron dominated Class AAA No. 4 Greater Atlanta Christian 59-31 Saturday afternoon at Parkview High School. The Lady Lions got off to a fast start racing out to an 8-0 early lead before GAC got on the board. Hebron built a 20-4 lead at the end of the first quarter mainly behind its full court press and its dominance on the glass. GAC had no answer for Hebron’s height advantage as the Lady Lions outscored GAC 19-6 in the second quarter. Hebron led 39-10 at the half and the damage was done. The Lion lead grew to 54-17 heading into the shortened 6-minute fourth quarter. Junior Malia Fisher had her best performance of the young season as she posted a double-double pouring in 23 points while pulling down 13 rebounds, both team highs. She added four steals, two assists and a blocked shot for good measure. Junior Ella Heard had her finest game of the season as well as she scored 13 points going 3-for-6 from the three point line. Junior Nicole Azar added 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for Hebron while Jessie Parish chipped in eight points, nine boards, two assists and two blocks. Carly Fahey led the team in assists with four and had three steals. Carly Heidger added three points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Lions who upped their record to 4-0 on the season. Hebron next takes on AAAAA Clarke Central on Monday at Clarke Central. Tipoff is 5:00 PM.
