Hebron faced off with North Oconee in their second game of the Andy Landers Classic this afternoon, and came away with an 85-50 win over their Class AAAA opponent. In a very physical game, both teams came out in their full court presses. It was tight for a while in the first quarter as the lead changed hands numerous times. In the second quarter, the Lady Lions began to break North Oconee’s press consistently. That combined with a height advantage, allowed Hebron to control the boards. The Lions broke open what was a close game, taking a 49-30 lead into halftime. Things got chippy in the second half and both teams had players foul out. No matter. Hebron outscored North Oconee 36-20 in the second half and cruised to a 35-point win over the previously unbeaten Titans. Junior Nicole Azar poured in a career-high 35 points including five three pointers, to lead the Lady Lions. Sophomore Jessie Parish had her first double-double of the season scoring 16 points while grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking four shots. Carly Fahey put up 13 points, six steals and five assists while Malia Fisher added nine points, five steals and four assists in limited playing time due to foul trouble. With the win, the Lions improve to 6-0 on the year while North Oconee falls to 5-1. The team will have a week and a half off until their next game and will enjoy this weekend to spend time with their families and friends for Thanksgiving. They won’t hit the court again until Friday, December 6 when they’ll take on First Presbyterian Day. Tipoff is 6:00 PM at Hebron.
