Hebron took to the court tonight after not playing for six days and the layoff showed. The Lady Lions defeated Shiloh 60-47 in what was a rather sloppy and physical game. Hebron led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter. They stretched the lead to 18 midway through the second but turnovers and generally sloppy play allowed Shiloh to stay in the game. The Lions took a 33-25 lead into halftime over their Class AAAAAAA opponent. The third quarter started well enough for Hebron as they opened the period on a 10-0 run upping the lead to 43-25. The Lady Generals closed the quarter on a 10-6 run cutting the Hebron lead to 49-35 heading into the fourth. Once the lead reached double digits again early in the third period, Shiloh never came within single digits for the remainder of the game. Despite the Lions’ somewhat uneven play, Shiloh never really threatened as Hebron maintained a comfortable lead throughout. Nicole Azar led the Hebron scoring effort with 25 points and did a nice job getting to the basket converting three 3-point plays. She also led the team in assists with five. Malia Fisher added 17 points, five rebounds and four steals while Jessie Parish put up seven points, a game-high 11 boards, three assists and three steals in an all around solid performance. Sydney Whalen added six points, two rebounds and two assists while Carly Heidger chipped in two points and eight rebounds. Ella Heard had three points and two assists for Hebron who improves to 9-0 on the year. Up next, the Lions will face Landmark Christian tomorrow. Tipoff is 4:00 PM at Hebron.
