Five players scored in double figures as the Hebron girls downed Franklin County 95-29 in a region road win in Carnesville tonight. Kerra Butler notched another double-double leading Hebron in points and rebounds with 19 and 12 respectively to go with two blocks. Danielle Osho scored 18 points to go with five rebounds. Amiya Porter had 17 points and four steals while Nicky Daniel scored 16 points to go with three steals. Aubrey Beckham put up 11 points, and team highs in assists and steals with eight and seven respectively. Mia James added seven points and five assists for the Lions who improve to 22-2 overall, 9-0 in region. Hebron wraps up the regular season with a trip to Toccoa to take on Stephens County. Tipoff is 6:00 PM Friday.

Amiya Porter scored her 1000th career point tonight as Hebron defeated Monroe Area 89-13 in a region game at Hebron. Porter led all scorers dropping 21 points on the visiting Purple Hurricanes. Danielle Osho was the only other Lion in double figures as she scored 11 points. Nicky Daniel and Aniya Moodie put up nine points apiece while Camryn Register and Kerra Butler each scored eight. Butler also had seven rebounds. Mia James had six points and five rebounds while Aubrey Becham added four points and a team high eight assists. Hebron ups its record to 21-2, 8-0 in region, with the win. This was the last regular season home game of the season and Hebron’s three seniors, Amiya Porter, Nicky Daniel, and Aniya Moodie were honored after the game during the Senior Night ceremony. All three girls have represented themselves and our school honorably during their tenure at Hebron and will greatly be missed next year. But there is still more basketball ahead. The Lions will next take on Franklin County on the road on Tuesday. Tipoff is 6:00 PM in Carnesville.

Class AAA tenth ranked Hart County made the trip down 85 from Hartwell to take on top ranked Hebron in a Region 8-AAA battle of top 10 teams Tuesday night. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, they ran into a juggernaut in the host Lions who laid a 106-39 beatdown on the visitors. The Hebron girls played arguably their most complete game offensively and defensively, since returning from Phoenix last month. The team connected on 10 three pointers in the first half alone, by five different players. Hebron led 65-25 and halftime and coasted in the second half. Amiya Porter led the way for the Lions in her best offensive output of the season. She scored a team high 26 points and connected six times from behind the arc. Aubrey Beckham scored 15 points and had six assists while Kerra Butler had 14 points and five rebounds. Nickey Daniel scored 13 points while Danielle Osho had eight points. Camryn Register added eight points for the Lions while Aniya Moodie had six. Alanna Beckham also scored six points to go with a team high seven steals. Mia James added five points and a team high 11 assists while Kai Willams chipped in five points. With the win Hebron ups its record to 20-2 overall, 7-0 in region play. Hart County drops to 15-7, 4-3. Up next, the Lions will take on Monroe Area in another Region contest. It will be Hebron’s final home game of the regular season. Tipoff is Friday at 6:00 PM.

The Hebron girls travelled to Watkinsville for their second meeting of the season with Oconee County and came away with a 60-14 region win in a physical contest. Aubrey Beckham posted a double-double scoring 10 points while dishing 10 assists. Danielle Osho and Kerra Butler narrowly missed double-doubles of their own. Osho had nine points and 11 rebounds while Butler scored eight points and grabbed 11 boards. Mia James scored eight points and had six assists while Camryn Register added nine points and three steals. Nicky Daniel also chipped in nine points for the Lions who improve to 19-2 overall, 6-0 in region action. They will next take to the court on Tuesday when No. 8 ranked Hart County visits Lions Arena in another region matchup. Tipoff is 6:00 PM.

Hebron defeated Stephens County 89-23 in a region game tonight at Hebron. Six players scored in double figures led by Danielle Osho who scored 15 points. Amiya Porter added 14 points and four assists while Kerra Butler had another double-double putting up 13 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Nicky Daniel scored the game’s first eight points and finished with 12 on the night. Camryn Register also had 12 points, in addition to her three steals. Mia James added 11 points and a team high five assists for Lions who improve to 18-2, 5-0 in region play. The win ends the first half of the region schedule with five remaining to be played. On Friday, the Hebron girls will travel to Athens to take on Oconee County (12-8, 4-1) who they defeated 67-29 in their first meeting on January 9. Tipoff is 6:00 PM at Oconee County High School.
